Welcome to Elizabethtown Independent Schools and the 20/21 school year. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the EIS superintendent beginning this year. I have served in education for 26 years with 20 of those being in the EIS district. My previous experiences include teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.
As we begin the 20/21 school year. Three words come to mind.
Change. Challenge. Opportunity.
These three words certainly set the tone for the 20/21 school year that lies ahead. Since March 2020, “change” has been at the heart of every aspect of our lives. These changes have presented “challenges” for which our community, like all others across the globe, must address. In the face of these challenges, “opportunities” arise that can work to bring about progress and positive change.
Our faculty and staff are working diligently to ensure that each student’s learning environment is safe, healthy, and academically excellent, in spite of the COVID pandemic. Each and every part of school life will look in some way different from before. However, Etown panthers are known to be resilient and to persevere through challenging times. I have no doubt that will continue to be the case.
Throughout the upcoming year, I ask that we all work together as a unified team with patience, cooperation, and understanding. Whether it be Traditional or Panther Online Learning, it will take all of Panther Nation, partnering as one, to build upon the district’s longstanding tradition of excellence. And… we will! Even in the middle of a once in a lifetime pandemic!
