May Student of the Month
Qhovia is an 8th grader at TKS. She is a straight “A” student and very involved in extracurricular activities. She is part of the Morningside Elementary mentoring program and tutors 5th graders along with helping them with homework. In addition, she plays the clarinet in the band. Qhovia is also an athlete and competes in field events for track which include the discus and shot putt for TKS/EHS. She also cheers at the TKS and Varsity level. Qhovia’s hobbies include watching super hero movies, water gun, and water balloon fights. She loves to read biographies and write - which is quite obvious after winning the state wide Martin Luther King Poetry competition. She has a terrific smile and is a pleasure to have in the halls of TKS.
Mrs. Perry had this to say:
Qhovia is an excellent student. She goes the "extra mile" in doing her work. She completes all assignments with excellence. She gets along well with her peers and willing to help any student. She is a great role model for other students. She is active in the community as well as supporting EIS in extra-curricular activities.
Qhovia Phillips is an exceptional young lady. She is a member of the T. K. Stone band program and is an exceptional clarinet player. As her band director for the last 3 years, I’ve been impressed by diligence and work ethic. Qhovia always maintains a refreshingly positive attitude and is a great example to her peers. I very much look forward to hearing about all the great things that are to come in her future.
Qhovia plans to attend UCLA and become an FBI psychologist in the forensics program. She has a bright future ahead of her. It is a pleasure to recognize, Qhovia Phillips as our 2018 TK Stone student of the month.
