    • Know when tests are scheduled.
    • Encourage your child to do his or her best.
    • Remind your child of the importance of reading directions carefully and not rushing through the test.
    • Make sure your child gets a good night's rest the night before the   tests and eats a good breakfast on test day.
    • Encourage your child to write. Ask to see examples often and  encourage them to work on their portfolio.
    • Don't schedule appointments, trips or interruptions during testing.
    • Remind your child about the importance of test scores in their lives and future; it's not just a reflection of the school and teachers, but also of their level of performance.
    • Set high expectations.
